Great article today about Tampa Bay’s Stephen Vogt:

Stephen rocks our System Seven line of catcher’s gear… and more recently he’s been field testing our new System Seven fielding gloves… our first base and outfield models in particular.  Stephen is also one of the nicest guys in baseball.  Period.  We hear that he has a knack for spot on impersonations… including Manager Joe Maddon!  He’s now banned from competing in the Rays’ Spring Training talent show because he’s won it at least two times with his impersonations.

Hats off to Jason

Tek_2009_july4

Jason Varitek has decided to hang up his catching gear and retire from professional baseball.  Just as Jason has played his entire major league career with the Boston Red Sox he has also spent his entire career using our catcher’s mitt and gear.  Jason has been a cornerstone of All-Star by freely giving us his thoughts, advice, and being open to trying new ideas.  We cannot say enough about Jason’s character, loyalty, and friendship.  Simply put, he is a class act.  We want to publicly thank Jason for his support and friendship.  While we may be losing an exceptional catcher, we are blessed that we will continue to have a great and loyal friend.  Jason will always have a special place in the All-Star Family.

Audio: Rifle range? Naw, just the All-Star CM3000 in the PhilliesBull Pen. Mitt pops like a 12 gauge!

Just a quick recording of the Phillies’ Bull Pen session this morning where just about all the catchers choose the All-Star CM3000 mitt.  The loud pop makes pitchers feel fast.
